A Night of Fun and Community: Capturing Saint Timothy’s Annual Auction Gala
A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of experiencing Saint Timothy’s Annual Auction Gala for the first time, not only as a photographer but also as a parent. Seeing the community come together in a new venue, with an energized auctioneer keeping the crowd engaged, and an incredible show of support for Catholic education, made the night truly special.
I had the immense pleasure and honor of photographing this event, but even more meaningful was witnessing firsthand the joy, friendship, and generosity that makes Saint Timothy’s such a tight-knit and faith-filled community.
A Vibrant New Venue
I’ve been told that the annual auction gala usually takes place at the Hilton, but this year the organizers made a bold shift and the gala was hosted at a new venue, The Barn at Brambleton, offering a fresh and beautiful backdrop for this beloved tradition. From the moment guests arrived the elegant décor and warm lighting set the stage for an unforgettable evening. I made sure to capture some beautiful detailed shots of the prepared space showcasing the effort that went into making the night special.
Laughter, Community, and a Spirit of Giving
One of the most rewarding parts of photographing this event was witnessing the pure joy on everyone’s faces. Whether it was old friends reconnecting, guests sharing laughs over dinner, or the excitement of a winning bid, every moment was a reflection of the strong bond within the Saint Timothy community.
Throughout the night, I focused on candid shots — the smiles, raised glasses, and animated conversations — that highlight what makes this event so special. These moments remind us that this gala isn’t just about fundraising; it’s about coming together to support something bigger than ourselves.
While there were some very beautifully prepared silent auction baskets on display, I found myself drawn more to the attendees and the energy of their excitement. Rather than focusing my time and energy on still shots of items, I wanted to capture the anticipation, the friendly bidding wars, and the joy of those placing their bids because at the heart of the event it was the people who made the night unforgettable.
An Auctioneer Who Brought the Energy
One of the great highlights of the evening was Mr. Brian Calabria, the auctioneer. With boundless enthusiasm he energized the room turning every bid into a thrilling moment. His quick wit and infectious energy kept guests engaged, creating an atmosphere of excitement and generosity as everyone eagerly raised their paddles to support the cause.
From lively bidding wars to celebratory cheers, I focused on capturing the electric energy in the room. With hands in the air, guests laughing, and Brian rallying the crowd, these moments perfectly encapsulated the fun community spirit and heartfelt generosity that made the night so memorable.
Supporting Catholic Education
Beyond the fun and laughter, this gala had a powerful purpose. The funds raised from the raffles, prizes, and auction will go directly to supporting Saint Timothy Catholic School, ensuring that students continue to receive a great Catholic education rooted in faith and excellence.
I took special care to capture the moments of giving — guests joyfully purchasing raffle tickets, making generous donations, and celebrating successful bids. These photos serve as a testament to the incredible generosity of this community and their dedication to providing students with an enriching, faith-filled education.
One of the most heartwarming moments of the evening was watching everyone’s reaction to a beautiful compilation video of the young students learning, playing, and growing at the school. Seeing their smiles and hearing their laughter on screen was a touching reminder of why this cause matters so much. It was a moment that truly brought the mission of Saint Timothy Catholic School to life.

Photographing Saint Timothy’s Annual Auction Gala was a great privilege. It was a night filled with fun, laughter, and the deep bonds of community — all in support of a meaningful cause.
